Mubaraha
Murabaha can be used to finance various things, such as: machinery, vehicles, company takeovers and such.
A Murabaha generally involves three parties:
1. Initial seller
2. Investor
3. Entrepreneur (the one who initiates the Murabaha)
In a Murabaha, two separate transactions take place consecutively:
1st transaction
An investor buys the asset from the seller who is the entrepreneur designates/prepares.
The investor is then the owner and can decide for himself what to do with it.
2nd transaction
The investor sells the asset to the entrepreneur with a mark-up.
The Entrepreneur immediately becomes the owner of the asset and pays for it the agreed amount based on the agreed payment schedule to the investor.
It is good to know that our focus is on Murabaha with a duration of max 4 years. The shorter the term, the better, as investors generally want to be paid fairly quickly for the delivered asset, and the risks for everyone involved are also smaller. Furthermore, we do not facilitate Murabaha for housing.
